How to use the lists
This is a rough guide, not a requirement: check the studio rules and the teacher's wishes in the class description or ask the teacher. We do not list prices or brands.
For a class
- A yoga mat, if one is not provided. You can check this in advance.
- A small towel, especially for dynamic styles and hot weather.
- A bottle of water.
- Comfortable clothes you can move in. For calm styles such as yin, something warm helps.
- Some cash in local currency in case payment is taken on the spot. Ask the teacher how to pay.
For a season in Goa
- A small kit with your own personal items. For questions about medication, talk to a doctor.
- Sun protection: a hat, sunscreen and light long-sleeved clothing.
- Travel insurance. Choose the terms yourself and check what it covers.
- A local SIM card or another way to stay connected, to message teachers and receive reminders.
- A visa and documents. Entry rules change, so check the official sources in advance.
For the season and life in the areas, see the Yoga in Goa page and the area pages.

Questions about what to bring
Do I need my own mat?
Not always: some places provide mats. It is best to check with the teacher or in the class description.
What should I wear to a class?
Comfortable clothes that do not restrict movement. In the heat choose light, breathable ones; for calm styles bring something warm.
Do I need cash?
Sometimes payment is taken on the spot, so a little cash is useful. Ask the teacher how to pay.
What should I take to Goa for a season?
A rough guide: a personal kit, sun protection, insurance, a local SIM card, and your documents with a visa. The full list is above on this page.
