Yoga in Goa season: when it starts and what to expect
The main season in Goa runs from about November to March. The air is dry, mornings are cool and the sea is calm, which is why teachers and travellers come for the winter. December and January are the busiest months, so popular classes and rooms fill up early.
From June to September the monsoon brings heavy rain, and many beach places close. Some classes continue indoors, but the choice is much smaller. Dates shift from year to year, so check a teacher's current schedule before you plan the trip.
Retreat or drop-in classes?
A yoga retreat is a programme of several days or weeks that usually combines daily practice, a place to stay and often meals. Drop-in classes are single sessions that you book one at a time. In Goa both exist, and many people combine them.
If you are unsure, try a week of drop-in classes first. You will see which style, teacher and area suit you before you pay for a longer programme. Aura does not sell retreats: it shows classes and teachers on a map, so you can look around and choose.
How Aura helps a student
Open Aura in Telegram and see classes on the map by time, place and yoga style. Read a teacher's profile and reviews, book a spot in one tap, and get a reminder before the class. If the teacher moves or cancels it, the bot tells you. Booking is free for students.
Classes appear as teachers publish their schedules, so what is on offer on a given day can vary. Check the map close to the date.
How Aura helps a teacher
If you teach in Goa for the season, you can publish a weekly schedule, take bookings and see who is coming, all in one place. Aura works in Telegram today, with the mobile app on its way. Share a link to your page in chats and groups, and students can open your classes and book without writing to you first.
Students find you on the map by place and style, not only through the people you already know. How it works is on the page for teachers.
